Japanese luxury jewelry brand MIKIMOTO officially opens at Landmark Central in Hong Kong. The new concept store is themed on "Light and Shadow," creating an immersive jewelry appreciation space. The brand also invited popular singer Yuta Jinguji to the event, showcasing MIKIMOTO jewelry in his signature style and presenting the fresh, boundary-breaking image of pearls.
The new concept store showcases the pinnacle of modern minimalist aesthetics in its spatial design. The interior and exterior walls and facade feature the brand's iconic 'M' motif, with approximately 900 'M' patterns elegantly woven throughout, creating a crisp yet powerful sense of linework. The store features several semicircular open screens that thoughtfully divide different themed jewelry sections, while the double-layer circular light-ring ceiling casts layered, flowing 'M' silhouettes across the floor and walls—seamlessly blending geometric light and shadow with minimalist structure. A private VIP room dressed in serene lake-green tones with Eastern-inspired murals preserves an intimate and tranquil atmosphere within its sleek, contemporary design.
The new store presents the brand's exceptional craftsmanship in full, including special collaboration series with Comme des Garçons and Chrome Hearts. The highly anticipated Chrome Hearts x MIKIMOTO 22K gold limited-edition collection makes its Hong Kong debut at this concept store. Departing from the signature silver palette, the new collection features warm, luxurious 22K gold paired with top-grade Japanese Akoya pearls and pavé diamonds, combining Gothic rock aesthetics with classic pearl craftsmanship. Standout pieces include a gold cross pearl necklace that reimagines rebellious styling, and a gold pearl brooch that transforms street symbols into fine jewelry—subverting traditional pearl perceptions and expressing a borderless fashion attitude and avant-garde aesthetics.
Longtime collaborator and popular singer Yuta Jinguji also visited the new store. Experiencing Hong Kong for the first time, he expressed excitement and praised the city for its dynamic energy and fashion-forward atmosphere. Walking through the new concept store, he was particularly impressed by the spatial design that fuses minimalist geometry with flowing light and shadow, describing how the streamlined lines and 'M' silhouettes interweave to create a modern, immersive art atmosphere. At the event, Yuta Jinguji wore the brand's Praise to the Sea brooch. He also sported a one-of-a-kind platinum ring co-designed with MIKIMOTO, set with sea sapphire and paired with black South Sea pearls, sapphire, alexandrite, and diamonds—showcasing his personal style with contemporary elegance and adding brilliant allure to the store's debut. This new concept store not only reimagines jewelry retail space but also exemplifies how a century of craftsmanship can be translated into contemporary fashion vocabulary.
